As NPWS members would be aware, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas been progressing a number of issues with their current restructure through the Industrial Relations Commission. In addition, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas been speaking with a number of community organisations who are outraged at the current restructure and the effect it will have on the dedicated and hardworking staff of NPWS.
As a result of these discussions the É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill be holding a day of action on Thursday 19 September. The day of action will be a chance for these community organisations to stand in solidarity with É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers by holding short rallies in key regional areas. The day of action is not industrial action, and the É«ÀÇÉçÇøis not directing any of its members to stop work. However, members may wish to attend an event near them in their lunch breaks, and are strongly encouraged to do so. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas distributed this notice to all OEH members for their information.
Day of action events will be held between 12:00-1:00pm in:
- Queanbeyan
- Katoomba
- Grafton
- Griffith
- Wollongong
- Newcastle
