New Communications Advisory Group Delegate

  4 February 2019

New Communications Advisory Group Delegate – February 2019 (pdf version)

Due to a number of recent member departures from the Sydney ROC, there have been some changes to the makeup of the Communications Advisory Group.

The Communications Advisory Group is a group of Delegates representing the various centres who meet quarterly with É«ÀÇÉçÇøindustrial staff. These delegates then attend the Joint Communications Consultative Committee (JCCC) directly afterwards with ROG Management to discuss and progress workplace issues.

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwould like to thank Glenn Duncan, Tracey Bailey, and Stephen Tonkli for their various contributions and hard work over the last 12-18 months. As per É«ÀÇÉçÇøRules, the existing Advisory Group delegates can nominate a member to fill a casual vacancy on the Advisory Group, which has now happened with the appointment of Michael Petersen as the Sydney delegate.

The current group is:

Sydney:          Michael Petersen (+ 1 vacancy)

Penrith:          John Hughes

Tamworth:     Sharon Watkins

Newcastle:     Marianne Turner

Oak Flats:       Karen Stephen

The elections for this group take place every two years with the next call for nominations to go out in March 2019. Any interested members are encouraged to get in touch if they would like further information about the role.

In addition to the Advisory Group delegates, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøalso needs a local delegate on each relief at each centre to ensure effective representation and communication. This is a critical role that ensures a responsive union presence at all times across ROG. Interested members are strongly encouraged to get more involved in their union by taking up this role.

A reminder that only financial É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers can nominate and vote in delegate elections. Not a member? Sign up today!
