Following a couple of recent resignations, vacancies have become available on the Community Corrections Departmental Committee (CCDC).
The CCDC is the peak representative group for É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers in Community Corrections and is made up of 14 delegates from offices across the state. The delegates meet quarterly at É«ÀÇÉçÇøHouse and work with É«ÀÇÉçÇøIndustrial Staff to drive strategy and represent members. They also meet quarterly with the Community Corrections Executive to consult on and resolve collective issues affecting members.

Unions such as the É«ÀÇÉçÇørely on active members and delegates to maintain adequate representation in workplaces and ensure information flows effectively between members in workplaces and É«ÀÇÉçÇøIndustrial staff.
Delegates are the union’s eyes and ears in the workplace and it’s critical that these roles provide that communication flow.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøstrongly encourages members from relevant offices to nominate and become the delegate representative for the above vacant electorates.

A reminder that all É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers are entitled to 12 days of paid leave every two years for certain union activities, including union training.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøcan assist in developing your skills through courses such as Role of the Delegate and Dealing with Restructures. Training dates are being finalised for the second half of 2021 and members can access the full É«ÀÇÉçÇøtraining schedule HERE.
