WaterNSW: Bargaining and pay

Bargaining is continuing weekly between the CPSU NSW, combined unions and WaterNSW. See our previous update .
The parties continue to discuss matters of interest including consultation, managing change, job security, workplace flexibility and remuneration. The pay increaseÌý WaterNSW is able to offer is directly linked to the NSW Public Sector Wages Policy 2021 (the Wages Policy). The Wages Policy was amended in mid-June to increase the pay quantum from 1.5 per cent to 2.5 per cent effective from the first pay period on or after 1 July 2021.
However, the CPSU NSW has been advised that the Government is considering the date that the 2.5 per cent is to be paid from. As a result, the CPSUNSW has written to WaterNSW firmly stating that the union’s position that the 2.5% should be paid from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2021. COVID-19
The union understands the increased COVID-19 restrictions may be creating ongoing uncertainty and anxiety among members. We are pleased that WaterNSW has agreed to provide paid Vaccination Leave for those wishing to have their shots, Ìýas well as providing additional flexibility to those staff who maybe homeschooling and/or have other additional pressures placed on them because of the current outbreak.
