Update: Senior Specialist Psychologists reclassification

Thank you to all the members who responded to the PSA’s last bulletin regarding reclassification.
Last week, the É«ÀÇÉçÇømet with Corrective Services Human Resources and Dr Jayson Ware Group Director, Offender Services & Programs. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøstressed the inequity of how reclassification has been administered, highlighting scenarios where experienced Psychologists have either been told they are ineligible to apply or have not been successful in being reclassified to Specialist or Senior Specialist Psychologist.
In response, Corrective Services advised it is willing to look into the issue. As reclassification is a Department of Communities and Justice-wide process, Corrective Services agreed to work with the É«ÀÇÉçÇøand approach the Department to propose a separate one off reclassification process for existing members who meet the criteria set out in clause 3 of The Crown Employees (Psychologists) Award. Members will be sent a further update in the coming weeks.
