UOW seeks staff endorsement to vary enterprise agreements

CPSU NSW UOW Branch members have voted to support a ballot of all professional staff on UOW’s proposed variation to the Professional Services Staff Enterprise Agreement despite serious reservations with the university’s plan.
The UOW proposal was finalised after negotiations between the university and unions ultimately failed to reach a consensus.
We have prepared an overview of the changes sought by UOW for your information and, while we are not endorsing the package, we are asking members to carefully consider the proposal and make a decision for themselves. It is important you vote.
The CPSU NSW notes that the staff ballot for changes to the professional services agreement opens today, 24 July at 3:00pm and closes next Tuesday, 28 July at 5:00pm.
There are two ballots being conducted simultaneously for professional staff and academic staff. If one of the ballots is successful and the other is lost, then neither will be enforced by the university.
