NSW Trustee and Guardian has announced the nominations for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs).
HSRs are important in ANY workplace because they:
- are elected by their colleagues
- represent health and safety interests of the workplace
- have legislative power to direct people to cease unsafe work
- conduct inspections of the workplace for Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) risks
- put the organisation under notice to fix WHS issues in a workplace.
It is important that the representatives elected are É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers as the É«ÀÇÉçÇøcan assist with WHS matters with its industrial expertise, and assist HSRs in their role of ensuring a safe workplace.
