Your union, the Public Service Association (PSA), continues to lead negotiations on the Workplace Presence Policy.
Following year-long negotiations in 2025, an agreement was reached that requires non-frontline employees to attend the office 50 per cent of the time, with the remaining 50 per cent worked remotely.
Earlier this year, Transport attempted to romp through the implementation of this policy during the ‘Great Restructure’, when most people’s jobs have been on the line.
Following a dispute lodged by your transport unions, this was stopped with Transport conceding in the Industrial Relations Commission.
Since then, the implementation of the policy has been delayed until after 1ÌýJuly 2026, or four weeks after stand-up, whichever comes first.
Transport has now attempted to bypass the agreed policy by giving local managers the discretion over your office attendance requirements, which could mean you can be required to attend the office more than 50 per cent of the time.
To be absolutely clear, this is not what was agreed.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas since disputed Transport’s interpretation and Transport have now come back confirming the 50 per cent office attendance agreement.
However, we still hold serious concerns with the language used by Transport with the implementation of the policy being imminent.
