Your Workplace Rights and Entitlements

SSO Role Description

Your role description outlines the purpose, duties and responsibilities of being an SSO. You should familiarise yourself with it and work within its scope.

Your Pay-Rise

Did you know that the pay-rise that NSW public servants receive every year is fought for and won by the PSA? The pay rises are not automatic but require the É«ÀÇÉçÇøto lodge a pay case in the Industrial Relations Commission every year to negotiate the maximum pay-rise allowable (2.5 per cent) with the NSW government.

This year, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøfought and lobbied hard to obtain the 2.5 per cent pay-rise for our members, negotiating up from the 1.5 per cent that the government initially offered. ThisÌýpay-rise is divided into a 2.04 per centÌýpay increase and a 0.5 per cent superannuation increase. The pay-rise will be backdated to the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2021 and is estimated to be implemented in your pay in mid-September.
