Sound Recording of Site Inspections – Lifting of work ban
18 May 2021
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøadvises members following ongoing consultation with the Department that we are now lifting the current work ban on the Sound recording of Site Inspections with the introduction of the operational protocols (see attached).
In agreeing to lift the ban, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas asked that the Department reviews the operation of the protocols within a 6-9 month timeframe which they have agreed to do.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøthanks members for their feedback into this. Your union appreciates that there are still some valid concerns as to the protocols, particularly the lack of a single system across BRD such as the body worn cameras being introduced for the SafeWork Inspectors.
Our preference would be for a single system across all of BRD and we will continue to advocate for that through the BRD-Joint Consultative Committee.
CBP Operational Review
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas been notified by the Department that they have engaged an external consultant to undertake a review of CBP functions following on from the BRD realignment last year. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill be involved in further consultation with the Department at the completion of the review and prior to any implementation of the review’s outcomes.
