School Psychologists – É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill continue negotiations with the Department of Education
10 December 2020
Thank you to those of you able to attend the É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers meeting 4 November. Following discussions at that meeting the É«ÀÇÉçÇøwrote to the Department of Education about the Professional Practice Framework.  We thank you for your detailed feedback which enabled us to advance the issues that matter most to you.
You can access a summary of the matters raised by the É«ÀÇÉçÇøwith the Department HERE.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas received a response from the Department which provided some assurances around the role description but failed to adequately address all the issues of concern.
Members can be assured that the É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill continue to represent your industrial rights and conditions as we move into the new year and continue our negotiations with the Department.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill prioritise the negotiation of a specific industrial instrument for school psychologists. The union will also be making sure that the Department does not impose onerous requirements on you over and above the conditions of registration required by the Psychology Board of Australia.
We will arrange a members’ meeting in early 2021 to report back further detail to members.
Have a safe and happy holiday period
É«ÀÇÉçÇøstaff and the Executive of the union wish everyone a safe and happy holiday period.
Your É«ÀÇÉçÇørepresentatives
Carmel McKeough, Industrial Officer
