SafeWork Restructure Update

Your union and delegates met with SafeWork management on 17 October 2024 to continue discussions around the SafeWork restructure.
We were advised that the recruitment process is progressing with the RSO Expressions of Interest now live.聽 Manager roles are going through mobility and then Stage 4.聽 It is proposed that critical roles will be backfilled while recruitment progresses.聽 Management is keen to use EOIs to fill gaps until the structure is bedded down.
While 8 November 2024 is still the proposed 鈥淕o Live鈥 date it may be that not everything will go live on that date.
SafeWork advised that managers can go into mobility when the structure takes effect or can elect to go into the program earlier.
色狼社区raised concerns about the increase in workload for those who are training as a result of new recruitment and how this impacts current staff who have full time roles and are also training Inspectors.聽 We were informed that this was on the Executive Leadership鈥檚 radar and is being discussed at their next meeting on 31 October 2024.
