At the compulsory conference for this dispute, the Commissioner requested the É«ÀÇÉçÇøprovide a submission to the Department to assist them in better understanding the PSA’s position and concern as to why Inspectors should have the competencies as required by both your award and the MOU.
In keeping with the Commission’s direction, and on behalf of the members the É«ÀÇÉçÇøSafeWork NSW Vocational Group submission to the Department is available HERE.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøalso notes that there was a communication to you all this week from the Secretary of the Department of Finance, Services and Innovation in relation to continuing with the recruitment process.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas also written to the Department seeking an assurance that no appointment to any Inspector roles will be made unless they have the competencies as required by the award and MOU. View the letter HERE.
The matter is back in the Industrial Relations Commission for a report back before Commissioner Murphy on 27 November 2018.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwould also like to acknowledge the work of the VG executive in putting this submission together.
