29 July 2025
On Monday 14 July 2025, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøand the Rural Fire Service (RFS) met to discuss the recent release of Assistance for Infirm, Disabled and Elderly Residents (AIDER), which can be viewed and the transition to the Guardian Mitigation Portal.
Further items also discussed within the meeting included:
- Mitigation team workload including coordinator and OpO1.
- Wording of the documentation resulting in confusion as to which role performs which tasks.
- Implementation of programs and training.
- Transition from ‘Works Assessment Officers’ to OpO1 Mitigation and it’s impacts.
As a result of this meeting both parties have agreed to a stay of proceedings until further consultation occurs between the É«ÀÇÉçÇøand the RFS.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis seeking feedback from members on the AIDER Program, the Home Fire Safety Visit (HFSV) Program and the Guardian Mitigation Portal, and further to this the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas been advised that the Mitigation teams have been performing tasks outside of their role description.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøencourages feedback from members with examples of this occurring in your district and ask that you contact the É«ÀÇÉçÇøMembers Support at and use Case ID – C10008484: or contact your delegates.
