RFS Mitigation Staff – Start Times, AIDER & HFSV Programs, and Guardian Mitigation Portal

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis aware that the Rural Fire Service (RFS) has recently requested mitigation staff to change their starting times. In some cases, staff have been asked to complete surveys indicating preferred start times ranging between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas received several phone calls concerned about the introduction of the new start times. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøunderstands that the new proposed start times will have both a financial and social impact on our members. Therefore, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill request a meeting with the RFS to raise your concerns.
Feedback on the AIDER and HFSV Programs, and Guardian Mitigation Portal:
As members will recall, the É«ÀÇÉçÇørecently sought feedback from mitigation staff regarding the Assist Infirm, Disabled and Elderly Residents (AIDER) Program, Home Fire Safety Visit (HFSV) Program, and the Guardian Mitigation Portal.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøreceived a large volume of responses highlighting a wide range of issues and concerns. A meeting with the RFS will be scheduled to ventilate these matters in full and ensure your voice is heard.
Next Steps:
- The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill meet with the RFS to discuss both the proposed start time changes and the concerns raised regarding AIDER, HFSV and Guardian.
