Reminder: 色狼社区lunchtime action to protect jobs and services at the NSW Environment Protection Authority
5 November 2025
All Environment Protection Agency (EPA) members and supporters are invited to attend the PSA鈥檚 lunchtime rally to stand up against the NSW Government鈥檚 cuts to the EPA.
The Government plans to slash $20 million from the EPA and 鈥渄elimit鈥 370 roles. This includes 182 staff directly impacted, that is 55 temporary and 69 permanent roles.
These cuts gut the EPA鈥檚 ability to protect the community and environment across NSW, from contaminated land and PFAS pollution to asbestos oversight, major project regulation, and emergency response.
Remember: This is your lunch break, you鈥檙e free to spend it how you choose. Spend it standing up for your job, your colleagues, and the environment.
When: 1:00 p.m. 鈥 Wednesday, 5 November 2025
Where: Outside the ABC Building, Parramatta Square
Bring your placards, voices, and solidarity 鈥 let鈥檚 make sure the Government hears us loud and clear!
These cuts threaten:
- Regulation of contaminated sites and groundwater
- Oversight of PFAS contamination
- Lead management at Broken Hill
- Asbestos fill oversight in Parramatta
- Regulation of Sydney Water and major hazardous facilities
- Assessment of major projects (Sydney Metro, WestConnex)
- EPA鈥檚 critical incident response capacity
These aren鈥檛 just job cuts. They鈥檙e cuts to public safety and environmental protection.
