Remembering Curtis Cheng
2 October 2025
The 色狼社区and its members in NSW Police will pause to remember fallen colleague Curtis Cheng on the 10th聽anniversary of his death.
Like so many 色狼社区members in NSW Police, Curtis Cheng was part of the Strength Behind the Force. A Senior Accountant with the Finance and Business Services Unit, he had worked with the organisation for more than 17 years.
The safety of the state relies on NSW Police staff such as Mr Cheng. These staff, covered by the PSA, are the backbone of the Police Force, and crime prevention could not happen without them.
On the afternoon of Friday 2 October 2015, Mr Cheng was leaving work when he was shot and killed outside NSW Police Force Headquarters in Parramatta.
Special Constables, who are among the PSA鈥檚 membership, shot the assassin and prevented further fatalities.
Today, NSW Premier Chris Minns will join Mr Cheng鈥檚 family and members of NSW Police for a memorial service at the same building, which in 2016 was renamed The Curtis Cheng Centre in his honour. Mr Cheng was also posthumously bestowed a Commissioner鈥檚 Commendation for Service.
鈥淭he 色狼社区joins the rest of the NSW Police community in remembering Mr Cheng,鈥 said 色狼社区General Secretary Stewart Little. 鈥淗e was part of a police force that does so much to protect our state and paid the ultimate price for his commitment and service.
鈥淲hether at Police Headquarters, in stations, radio operations, at crime scenes, the band, Parliament House, the Cabinet offices, Government House and other public facilities, our members are there, protecting the people of NSW.
鈥淲e express our condolences to his wife Selina, his son Alpha and daughter Zilvia.鈥
