Reiby Youth Justice Workplace Group
10 November 2021
Elections were recently run for Workplace Delegates within Reiby Youth Justice Centre.
Unfortunately, multiple vacancies remain and some nominations have since been retracted for personal reasons.
This has meant there has been no É«ÀÇÉçÇømember workplace representation to consult with local management on issues that may affect all members.
This Committee is only as strong as its delegates. It is your opportunity to be part of driving the union issues that matter to you and other members and keeping management accountable for their decisions!
The Committee meets regularly with É«ÀÇÉçÇøindustrial staff, and with your local Youth Justice Management to discuss, consult and progress collective issues.
If you would like more information don’t hesitate to contact your É«ÀÇÉçÇøindustrial staff: Gino DiCandilo or Latu Sailosi . There are a number of positions available from Chair to Line Delegates.
Members’ meeting
There will be a members’ meeting held on Wednesday 1 December 2021 from 1:30pm-2:30pm to discuss and elect positions.
Union training
To support our new Delegates, or members considering becoming a Delegate, we are offering a three-hour online session titled Basics for New Delegates. Members are entitled to Special Leave to attend trade union training courses. Content includes a brief introduction to the union, and workshopping the role and responsibilities of a Delegate. We have set two dates, so if you are interested please choose the date that suits you. Register for that session using the appropriate link below.
