É«ÀÇÉçÇøopposes Revenue NSW job losses – September 2018 (PDF version)
Although the announcement on Thursday 23 August of the restructure of the Revenue NSW Finance and Payroll divisions was not unexpected, it is understandable the news is no less upsetting for many of you.
In our first consultation session with Management on Tuesday 28 August, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøtabled its strong opposition to the loss of 19 jobs, expressing its strong philosophical objection to the outsourcing and offshoring of these public sector roles.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøalso made the point that it was disappointing the Department had seen fit to continue with its outsourcing of payroll and finance when it knows there remains myriad payroll and privacy concerns with the outsourced provider.
If Revenue NSW Management genuinely took these very legitimate concerns seriously it would, at the very least, sort them out prior to its outsourcing exercise.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøthis week brought these concerns into the mainstream press last week which can be viewed .
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøsupports a large and well-resourced public service for the benefit and enjoyment of the citizens of NSW. The Government and the Department on the other hand is happy to outsource and offshore of jobs at the expense of the responsibility it has to its voters.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøbrought other matters to the table such as the possibility of role exchanges (job swaps).
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill be holding a members’ meeting to discuss these issues and more, and to hear members’ feedback. We look forward to you joining us for a members’ meeting on Tuesday 4 September. This will be an opportunity to provide any input you may have that we can include as part of our final submission to management.
