Complaints have been received from members about incorrect/untrue and unauthorised information being sent to É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers as if it is authorised by the PSA.
This practice undermines the power of the union and should be challenged by members who receive or view suspect information.
The only official PSA/CPSU(SPSF) communication is that which carries the authorisation of the É«ÀÇÉçÇøGeneral Secretary.
Some unauthorised material including t shirts and websites have also been designed to look as if they have formal standing by incorporating either the whole or part of the É«ÀÇÉçÇølogo.
In order to reduce the opportunity for deception, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas now registered the É«ÀÇÉçÇølogo as a trademark and legal action will be taken against anyone who uses it or any similar image for an unauthorised purpose.
To help keep our union strong, members are asked to challenge the providers of unofficial material which carries or incorporates an image similar to or the same as the É«ÀÇÉçÇølogo.
É«ÀÇÉçÇøelection
Ballot papers for the É«ÀÇÉçÇøelection will be sent from the NSW Electoral Commission on Monday 12 September.
The election may result in unsolicited emails being sent to members.
Be advised that the É«ÀÇÉçÇødoes not provide member email details other than to a limited number of delegates who have requested the list for specific É«ÀÇÉçÇøbusiness.
Those delegates who have been provided with an email list have been asked to sign a confidentiality agreement stating that they will respect the privacy of members and not use the member email list for unofficial purposes eg electioneering.
If you are concerned about any emails you receive, then in the first instance ask the sender how they got your email address. Then ask to be unsubscribed and/or complain to the IT section in your department or agency. If you believe that the person sending the suspect email has used member information supplied by the É«ÀÇÉçÇøto delegates for official business then you may also wish to advise the É«ÀÇÉçÇøat
