Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions: Workload dispute update, extension of Workload Management Tool pilot, feedback and more

During a Joint Consultative Committee with the 色狼社区on 24 November 2021, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) informed your union that the pilot of the Workload Management Tool (WMT) had been extended until the end of the year due to the impact of COVID-19.
Providing feedback on the pilot
While the ODPP鈥檚 Workload Measure Pilot Survey for feedback on the WMT has now closed, we strongly encourage members to email their feedback on the pilot and their workloads to the ODPP鈥檚 feedback email address .
The ODPP anticipates the pilot analysis will conclude at the end of January 2022 and the 色狼社区expects to receive a copy of the feedback from the review of the WMT pilot soon after this time.
On 25 November 2021, the ODPP provided the 色狼社区with 鈥渕id-pilot feedback鈥 on the WMT. To summarise, the feedback mainly related to inaccurate and inappropriate multipliers and weightings and high optimum practice sizes.
NSW Industrial Relations Commission
As previously advised, the 色狼社区is currently in dispute with the ODPP over the implementation of the WMT and unsafe workloads at the ODPP. The dispute is listed back in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission for mention on 1 February 2022. In the interim, the ODPP has undertaken not to implement the WMT prior to 31 January 2022.
Summons of Documents
The ODPP is still resisting providing the 色狼社区with documents in relation to workloads of solicitors over the past two years. The parties will be submitting evidence on a Notice of Motion for a Summons to Produce and the matter is expected to be listed for hearing in mid-February 2022.
