Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions: Workload dispute update
7 April 2022
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøattended the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) on 31 March 2022 for a report back to Commissioner Webster regarding the current consultation dispute proceedings, reported on in our last Bulletin to members found HERE.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøearlier filed a case outline and proposed directions indicating that we would be seeking an Award:
- enshrining aspects of the Flexible Work Agreement
- including a Safe Workload Practice requirement.
We confirm that the proposed steps were discussed with members during the É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers’ meeting held on 24 March 2022.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) objected and said the É«ÀÇÉçÇøshould file its proposed Award by way of new proceedings and that this dispute had ended, as the proposed Award went beyond the dispute.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøagreed to discontinue the proceedings on the limited basis that we would file a new Award resulting in fresh IRC proceedings. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill now file an application for an Award and seek a timetable for filing evidence. We will provide you with further updates in the near future.
