Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions – Workload Dispute Update

  2 July 2021

Thank you to all the members who attended our statewide members’ meeting on Wednesday, 30 June 2021. Participation at the meeting was very high and what was clear through the comments raised from members across the state is how widely and deeply felt the existing workload problems are.

In summary, as outlined during the meeting, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøis looking at all potential legal and industrial measures (including Work Health and Safety avenues) to address workload.

As discussed while the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas maintained that the 2004 Workload Agreement is still valid throughout the dispute, the broader concern, especially for the NSW Industrial Relations Commission (IRC), is whether or not the ODPP is complying with its obligations to provide a safe system of work.

The ODPP and the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhave been in discussion over this, specifically in relation to the new workload management tool. The ODPP and the É«ÀÇÉçÇøare due for further conciliation at the IRC on 13 July 2021. Following this, members will then receive a further update.

We would again encourage members to bring your issues forward and this can be through:
