Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions: New workload weighting model
19 March 2021
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøand the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) are in dispute in relation to the non-enforcement of the current Workload Weighting Agreement. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis now aware that without consultation with the union, the ODPP is moving ahead with implementing its new Workload Management System on Monday, 22 March 2021. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis back in the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) on Tuesday, 23 March 2021. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis very concerned about the implementation of the new system as there will be at least a 20 per cent increase in workload in comparison to the existing agreement.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis seeking an undertaking from the ODPP that the new system will not be implemented until consultation has occurred. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis aware that many members are currently struggling with their workload and the new system will be a disaster for the work, health and safety of members.
We will update members after the IRC report back.
