NSW Trustee and Guardian É«ÀÇÉçÇøWorkload Campaign success! 120 Additional Staff

As members will be aware, the NSW Government will be providing additional funding to NSWTG from 1 July 2021. This means an additional 120 staff members will be hired.
We have met with the CEO and understand that the new funding will be directed towards Financial Management (FM). The É«ÀÇÉçÇøknows that FM in particular have endured significant workload stress. This is supported by the fact that the majority of respondents to the recent É«ÀÇÉçÇøWorkload Survey were from FM.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas campaigned consistently for more staff since the disastrous 2017 restructure, where significant cuts were made. In response to the PSA’s campaign, the CEO’s solution to work overload has historically been to identify operational efficiencies rather than hire more people. Nevertheless, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøheld firm to its position. We are overjoyed that NSWTG and the NSW Government have now conceded that more staffing is actually the only real solution.
Without pressure from members on the ground, the PSA’s advocacy would not have been effective. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwishes to thank all members, especially those who have attended meetings, responded to bulletins and responded to surveys.
