NSW Trustee and Guardian: Flexible Working Policy consultation
12 June 2025
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas been contacted by the NSW Trustee and Guardian (NSWTG) regarding consultation for a new Flexible Work Policy and Procedure. NSWTG proposes to adopt the existing NSW Department of Communities and Justice policy. Consultation runs until Friday 20 June 2025, however the É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill request an extension if necessary.
You can view the DCJ Flexible Work Policy HERE, and the associated Flexible Work Procedures HERE.
In summary, members should be aware that the changes proposed include the following:
- If members have access to hybrid/remote working arrangements, at least 50 per cent of their work time must be spent in an NSWTG workplace over a period of one month. At least some of that time is to be on a Monday or a Friday.
- If members wish to seek to spend more than 50 per cent of their working time in an NSWTG workplace over a period of one month, a formal request is required for consideration.
- A transition period applies up to 4 August 2025, by which time all members and teams are to be operating in line with the policy requirements. During the transition period, team-based conversations about flexible work can occur, and any necessary approvals can be considered.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøseeks any member input. There will be two member meetings next week to facilitate this; Wednesday at 12:00pm and Thursday at 1:00pm. The meetings will be held via Microsoft Teams: the links are below.
