NSW Trustee and Guardian: Call recording
28 May 2020
Members have advised that NSWTG has recorded phone conversations between employees without notice. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis highly concerned about this, as such activity may be in breach of the Workplace Surveillance Act NSW 2005.
Previously, the PSA’s understanding was that call recording by NSWTG would be limited to calls between NSWTG staff and NSWTG clients. The purpose of the call recording was to ensure quality control. NSWTG also specified that call recording would not be used in any disciplinary sense.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill be contacting NSWTG about the issue. Any further feedback from members in regard to call recording would be much appreciated.
