NSW government splurges a million dollars on plants – 2GB radio 10 June 2020

A NSW government department has outraged public sector workers by spending over a million dollars on indoor plants.
The Department of Planning鈥檚 new offices in Parramatta will feature a 鈥榞reen wall鈥 of tropical plants, the three-year contract for which is priced at $1.246 million.
Public Service Association General Secretary Stewart Little told Ray Hadley the splurge 鈥渂eggars belief鈥, especially at the same time the NSW government is fighting to freeze public sector wages.
鈥淭o make matters worse 鈥 this was signed off in April of this year.
鈥淸It鈥檚] bad enough we鈥檝e just got through the bushfires, bad enough we鈥檙e entering a pandemic 鈥 and obviously we鈥檙e being told to tighten our belts.
鈥淚f this sort of thing goes through, well what else is going on?鈥
Ray was astounded by the story.
鈥淭he hypocrisy of government sometimes is breathtaking.鈥
