NSW Dept of Customer Service to merge IT teams in restructure – IT News 28/04/2021

色狼社区General Secretary Stewart Little said the planned restructure was 鈥渁n acknowledgement of what an abject failure the 2015 outsourcing to Unisys has been鈥.
鈥淭he NSW DCS says it is now investing in governance, in-house IT ability and the state’s cyber-security. It absolutely should do this,鈥 he said.
鈥淏ut it needs to go further and bring all IT functions in-house, so that we can have control over the function and private data of people in NSW.鈥
Mr Little warned, however, that the DCS restructure 鈥渕ust not come at the cost of hardworking, existing employees鈥.
鈥淭he union is concerned that some of the changes will see employees have less flexibility – we will be representing these concerns, and working closely with all affected [members],鈥 he said.
