Northcott: CPSU NSW seek delay on forced Service Coordinator redundancies

The Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU NSW) has today written to Northcott seeking a delay in the implementation of any forced Service Coordinators redundancies. You can read a copy of our submission
As previously reported, Northcott wrote to the CPSU NSW on 8 November to advise us of plans to immediately shed up to 15 Service Coordinator roles as part of a new streamlined operating model, with job losses set to take effect less than a month before Christmas.
CPSU NSW Industrial Manager, Thane Pearce said 鈥淐harity starts at home. How you treat your people matters; and the timing of this proposal couldn鈥檛 be more insensitive.鈥
鈥淲e鈥檝e asked Northcott to delay any forced redundancies until at least 1 February 2024. That would give staff and their families the security paid employment over the Christmas and New Year period, which is statistically the worst time of year to look for work.鈥
In addition, the CPSU NSW has sought a range of other supports based on feedback from Service Coordinators. These include:
- Clear and comprehensive information on financial entitlements
- Outplacement support
- Compensation for additional travel
- Staff-to-supervisor ratios
- Broader consultation
