NCAT member bulletin – June 2017 (PDF version)

Formation of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal Joint Consultative Committee

Over the past few months, É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers in NCAT have alerted their union representatives about workplace issues occurring across a number of divisions.

Currently there is no formal consultative arrangement set up with NCAT management to raise overarching workplace issues.

In response, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas entered discussions with Cathy Szczygielski, Principal Registrar and Executive Director of NCAT, requesting the formation of a Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) to meet periodically. This would provide a forum for workplace issues to be raised on behalf of NCAT É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers.

Read the letter HERE.

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøparticipates in many JCCs across the Public Sector and finds it a valuable method of communication and negotiation with employer agencies. The formation of a JCC will assist current É«ÀÇÉçÇøDelegates and Contacts across NCAT to address issues within the Divisions and across the agency as a whole.

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis currently reviewing the draft Terms of Reference provided by NCAT and will liaise with NCAT for the scheduling of JCC meetings in 2017. Members will be updated with further developments.

This is a chance for NCAT members to have a voice in how their workplaces are run. Encourage your colleagues to join the PSA, as the more members we have, the stronger our negotiating power will be.

É«ÀÇÉçÇøstaff will arrange to visit NCAT workplaces in the near future.
