National Corrections Day

Today is National Corrections Day, the day we recognise the tough work É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers in corrections do in our prisons and the wider community.
Today is a great chance to acknowledge the hard-working men and women who run these facilities: the professional staff who run our prisons and Community Corrections systems and play a vital role in protecting the people of NSW and rehabilitating inmates.
In the face of recent announcements, it is important to note our state’s gaols are the lifeblood of regional communities, contributing to local economies with stable Public Sector jobs.
Every É«ÀÇÉçÇømember working in our corrections system should be congratulated and rightly proud of the work they have done in the face of the many challenges in their workplaces. You all provide a critical service to the state.
