Justice Corporate Restructure Management Plan

Justice Corporate Restructure Management Plan

  20 August 2020

As members are aware, the Corporate Restructure Management Plan (RMP) is underway in the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). Members have relayed to the É«ÀÇÉçÇøsignificant confusion and concern regarding the application, assessment processes and current stage of the RMP.

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas written to the Department seeking clarification in relation to a number of irregularities, inconsistencies and changes to what had been agreed to during consultation with É«ÀÇÉçÇødelegates. Apart from a heavy perception of bias toward certain applicants, members have expressed to the É«ÀÇÉçÇøthat they feel a serious absence of transparency and communication from management in regard to the RMP process generally.

Members have expressed their dismay that long-standing employees without any performance issues have been sidelined in the RMP raising questions about the Department’s method of assessment. The way in which members have been treated in this process flies in the face of the basic public service values of impartiality, accountability, inclusion and merit-based recruitment. The Machinery of Government changes have meant that the situation for members has remained in flux for a year. Many members are still uncertain of their future in the NSW Public Service.

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis meeting with the Department on Tuesday, 25 August 2020. Members will be updated following the meeting.Ìý
