Investigation by the Resources Regulator

A number of you have contacted the É«ÀÇÉçÇøregarding the tragic death of É«ÀÇÉçÇømember Inspector David Koen. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwould like to inform members that the Resources Regulator has received a referral from SafeWork NSW and will be conducting an investigation.
The Resources Regulator has advised that SafeWork employees who wish to speak with the regulator regarding this matter can contact the lead investigator Jason Gill at "> or 0417 137 889.
Any information received from SafeWork staff by the Resources Regulator will be kept confidential and not shared with SafeWork NSW or the Department of Customer Service.
However, the Resources Regulator has advised that information provided may later become subject to GIPA applications or court proceedings. In this event the usual confidentiality provisions under GIPA and court proceedings would apply.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇørecognises that this continues to be a very difficult time for many members. Those requiring assistance are encouraged to use the Employee Assistance Program through Benestar (Employee Assistance Program provider) by visiting their or calling 1300 360 364.
