Group Director, Offender Services & Programs memorandum: Single facilitation

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis aware that a Directors Memorandum was sent out about single vs. co- facilitation on 18 March 2022. The memorandum indicates the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas been in ongoing discussions with staff and the PSA. However, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas not consented to the memorandum and has requested more time to consider and discuss it with Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW).
Mid North Coast hostage incident
Following the hostage situation last year at Mid North Coast Correctional Centre, members put bans on working one out. Since the incident, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas repeatedly raised concerns with CSNSW about the risks members are exposed to when working one out. CSNSW has now confirmed that cameras are to be installed to try and manage the risks. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis also waiting on a report written by an external consultant following the hostage incident.
Members are encouraged to forward any feedback regarding the memorandum to the É«ÀÇÉçÇøfor discussion with CSNSW.
