Fair Work Commission approves new Enterprise Agreement for Parklea Correctional Staff

The Fair Work Commission (FWC) has approved a new ‘greenfields’ enterprise agreement for correctional staff at Parklea Correctional Centre.
The approval process was delayed, in part, due to concerns raised by FWC regarding the NSW Government’s handling of contractual arrangements and, in particular, whether the transition from GEO to MTC/Broadspectrum amounted to a ‘transfer of business’ under the Fair Work Act 2009.
The new enterprise agreement negotiated by the CPSU NSW matches the previous GEO enterprise agreement on all core conditions and provides for future pay rises in line with the NSW public sector wages policy.
FWC’s approval of the new enterprise agreement means that employment arrangements covered by the instrument are now fully enforceable. Click for a copy of the agreement.
