Expressions of interest to fill delegate vacancy: Community Corrections Departmental Committee – Southern Region

Following a recent resignation, a vacancy has arisen on the Community Corrections Departmental Committee (DC) for the Southern Region. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwould like to thank Jaemi Templeton for the work she has put into this role to date as the representative for the Southern Region.
The Community Corrections DC is the peak representative group for É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers and is made up of 14 Delegates from Community Corrections offices across the state. The delegates meet quarterly at É«ÀÇÉçÇøHouse, Sydney, and work with industrial staff to drive strategy and represent members.
Unions like the É«ÀÇÉçÇørely on active members and delegates to maintain adequate representation in workplaces and ensure information flows effectively between members in workplaces and É«ÀÇÉçÇøindustrial staff.
Delegates are the union’s eyes and ears in the workplace and it’s critical that these roles provide that communication flow.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøstrongly encourages members from relevant offices to nominate and become the delegate representative for this electorate.

A reminder that all É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers are entitled to 12 days of paid leave every two years for certain union activities, including union training.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøcan assist in developing your skills through courses such as Role of the Delegate and Dealing with Restructures. The full É«ÀÇÉçÇøtraining schedule is available HERE.
