Laundry allowance
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas contacted EPA Management informing it that laundry allowance is an award entitlement and as such is in no way connected to the EPA’s Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Therefore, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas asked the EPA to commit to back pay the laundry allowance to identified members in the next pay period, the week starting 18 March 2019. Planning and Environment has given an undertaking that this will occur.
Vacant roles
Members have contacted the É«ÀÇÉçÇøwith concerns they are performing extra work as a result of roles not being backfilled and/or having been left vacant. The É«ÀÇÉçÇødirects its members to cease working in such roles and not take on the extra work that is a result of roles not being backfilled or being left vacant.
If any member has been or is asked to undertake work in these said roles, please advise the É«ÀÇÉçÇøthrough the Member Support Centre on 1800 772 679.
Work performance
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøadvises members if you are directed to attend a meeting with your manager regarding any work performance issue, you are entitled to take with you to that meeting a É«ÀÇÉçÇøsupport person. If the meeting involves a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), please contact the É«ÀÇÉçÇøMember Support Centre on 1800 772 679.

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwould like to hear from members who might be interested in becoming Delegates and contacts within the EPA, to continue to build our strong union.
É«ÀÇÉçÇøDelegates assist in protecting and wherever possible, advancing the interests and rights of members at the local level. Delegates have a legal right to carry out union responsibilities in the workplace. Delegates also have access to a range of trade union training including: The Role of the Delegate, Negotiating Skills, Dealing with Bullying in the Workplace, and much more. Delegates (as well as any É«ÀÇÉçÇømember) have access to paid training leave to attend such courses. More info on training, as well as how to join the PSA, can be found at our website www.psa.asn.au.
