Email regarding complying with Public Health Orders sent Friday 3 September to Community Services staff

  4 September 2021

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas become aware many staff received emails late on Friday afternoon notifying them of their inability to work from Monday 6 September as they would not be compliant with the Public Health Orders which forbid workers leaving their Local Government Areas (LGAs) for work if they have not had their first injection or a medical contraindication certificate.

Unfortunately, it appears many of these emails went to people who have been, and continue to work from home and do not leave their LGA for work.

Having spoken to the Director of Employee Relations today, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøcan confirm this email was sent to those people in error.

If you are working from home, or have another arrangement where you don’t need to leave your LGA, you can continue with this arrangement next week.

The Department has also notified the É«ÀÇÉçÇøthat a number of vaccination sites have been made specifically available for staff to get their first vaccination this weekend if they are still struggling to gain their first shot. Members are encouraged to take advantage of this offer if at all possible.

If you think you have shown evidence of your first jab, or provided a medical contraindication certificate via Service Now but received one of these emails, please check your status online and contact your manager to ensure it has been correctly recorded.

The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill support all members through this process. Should you have an issue when attempting to work on Monday please contact your manager in the first instance.

If this does not resolve the issue, please contact the É«ÀÇÉçÇøon 1800 772 679 or via your local Delegate.
