“Economic vandalism” – ɫrebukes job cuts
The ɫhas publicly rebuked the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s (DPC) planned job cuts.
In The Sydney Morning Herald this morning, ɫGeneral Secretary Stewart Little stated:
“Voluntary or not, the redundancies were still job losses … These roles won’t be replaced and it will leave NSW with fewer jobs overall. This government awards $5 million in contracts to outsource its policy plans to big four consultants, and then cuts jobs – all in the name of efficiency. That’s not efficiency, it is economic vandalism.”

The ɫhas received mass correspondence this week, with members deeply concerned about these job cuts.
As outlined in yesterday’s bulletin HERE, DPC had failed to consult with the ɫbefore announcing this major workforce transition. The ɫwill provide further information about a formal dispute shortly.
The ɫcalls on the NSW Government – stop this economic vandalism.
