Department of Justice Digital technology Services restructure – March 2017 (PDF version)
Dear DTS É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas been advised about problems in the Justice DTS Restructure, including the following:
- Long-term staff being told that they do not meet the capabilities for roles at grade
- The use of contractors on selection panels, contrary to the Change Management Plan.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøattempted to resolve the matter by meeting with the Department of Justice. However, the Department continues to use contractors on selection panels and has refused the PSA’s request to halt the selection process until this matter is resolved.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas now lodged a Dispute in the Industrial Relations Commission about the recruitment process. It will be heard on Tuesday, 4 April 2017.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill advise members of the outcome of the Dispute in the near future.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill also seek to re-establish ongoing Joint Consultative Committee meetings for DTS as a mechanism to raise member issues and hold management to account.
