Department of Climate Change Energy Environment and Water: Water Group realignment
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis calling an members meeting in relation to the proposed realignment in the Water group of Department of Climate Change Energy Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøunderstands that this change is the result of the recent IPART determination and subsequent reduced funding for the Water group. DCCEEW have indicated this is the first in a two-stage reform to reflect the changed budget, with consultation on the second stage to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
This first stage primarily impacts the executive; however, feedback from members received so far has identified flow on effects from the reduction of seven functional divisions down to four and the impact on É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøhas written to DCCEEW seeking an extension to the consultation period to allow our members additional time to fully consider the proposed changes and provide meaningful feedback, and the agency has agreed to an additional week. Consultation will now close on Friday 14 November.
