Stress and overwork
Schools are continually having more responsibility put upon them. This results in more work for both teaching and non-teaching staff.
The implementation of new computer systems and the continuing change to the work you do have seen an increase in the stress and strain members are feeling about their work. These increases are often introduced without consultation and without reducing any other work to compensate.
As a result of pressure from the É«ÀÇÉçÇøthe Department has been consulting about ways to reduce these burdens and how to co-ordinate the roll out of new work practices and processes. However, it is important that if you are feeling stressed by extra work please ensure you report this stress to the Incident Report and Support Hotline on 1800 811 523.
Make sure you keep a record of the incident number you will be given when you report the incident.
Should you experience new stressful situations please also report the new incidents.

Violence
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis receiving increasing reports of violence at work. Our School Learning Support Officers and other staff are the subject of violence against them from spitting to punching and having objects and furniture thrown at them.
This is unacceptable. If this occurs, please report it immediately to your Principal or Supervisor.
Please also report the matter to the Incident Report and Support Hotline on 1800 811 523.

It is vital that there is a record of these incidents. The É«ÀÇÉçÇøis here to assist you in these matters. It is much easier if previous incidents are recorded.
Do not be talked out of reporting the matter. For your own safety and for the safety of other staff and students it is vital that there is a record so that steps can be taken to prevent future incidents.
