As you are aware, the Department has recently completed the Administration and Stores Review.
The Department has advised that a restructure will occur as a result.
In anticipation, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøand delegates held member meetings through the state to listen to the concerns and advice of members.
The information provided at these meetings was used by the É«ÀÇÉçÇøand delegates to compile a list of forty seven questions which were sent to the Department on 1 February, 2016.
After considerable prompting from the É«ÀÇÉçÇøand a two month delay, the Department provided a two page response on 5 April, 2016.
The response was totally inadequate and lacked respect for the consultative process.
In response, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøsought an urgent relisting in the Industrial Relations Committee, the matter will be heard on 2 May, 2016.
Deputy Commissioner Corcoran has requested a meeting with the É«ÀÇÉçÇøand delegates on Thursday 28 April, 2016 to discuss the restructure.
However, based on previous experiences, the É«ÀÇÉçÇøis not confident the meeting will resolve the concerns of members.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøwill send out a further update to members on the meeting and the IRC dispute next week.
