This newsletter invites members to apply for a number of vacancies on the É«ÀÇÉçÇøLegal Aid NSW Departmental Committee. All É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers will benefit from a broad spectrum of interests being represented on the committee; therefore we encourage members to get involved.
É«ÀÇÉçÇø Legal Aid NSW Departmental Committee
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøDepartmental Committee is a democratically elected committee of union members at Legal Aid NSW. Elections for the committee are held every two years and each year the committee elects a sub-committee to deal with issues between meetings.
The É«ÀÇÉçÇøDepartmental Committee meets every two months at Head Office, generally on a Thursday between 1pm and 4pm.
The committee develops positions on issues affecting É«ÀÇÉçÇømembers. It is an important advisory body to the representatives to the Legal Aid NSW Peak Consultative Committee and the É«ÀÇÉçÇøgoverning body, Central Council.
É«ÀÇÉçÇøDepartmental committee members are released from duty to attend these meetings which are planned 12 months in advance at the beginning of each year.
Legal Support Officers, Grants Officers, FDR Conference Organisers are especially encouraged to nominate.
