$1000 Cost-of-living payment: TAFE NSW Administrative, Support and related employees

In 2025, CPSU NSW members voted to accept an 11.4 per cent cumulative pay offer over three years, which was back dated to September 2024.

The 2025 pay deal included an inflation safeguard for members at the CPSU NSW’s insistence – in the form of a one-off, taxable, non-cumulative cost-of-living allowance (COLA) of $1000 (plus superannuation) should the Sydney Consumer Price Index (CPI) exceed 4 per cent in the second or third year of the deal.

Yesterday it was announced the Sydney Consumer Price Index (CPI) has exceeded 4 per cent in the March 2026 quarter.

This means all members covered by the TAFE Commission of NSW Administrative, Support and Related Employees Enterprise Agreement 2024-2027 should receive the $1000 cost-of-living allowance (COLA) payment negotiated by the CPSU as part of that deal.

The CPSU NSW is seeking a meeting with the State Government in respect to the COLA payment.
