Hands Off Pensions and Medicare June 2014 (PDF Version)

The phony scare campaign that there is a deficit crisis is being used to bring in an Austerity Budget.

Since the Abbott Government have been in office, they have doubled the deficit to $68 billion.

This cruel budget will result in:

  • Pension age increasing to 70 (with 30% of people dying before the age of 70)
  • Slashing $80 billion from the States for Health and Education
  • Changing indexation used for calculating the pension, which will produce lower increases
  • Seeing some pensioners living below the poverty line
  • Introducing a $7 co-payment to see a GP, which is the think edge of the wedge to bring in a user pay system similar to the U.S. (if you haven’t got the money: too bad)

We have to defeat this cruel budget
